MEP AUTOMATION: CHALLENGES, PROBLEMS, SOLUTIONS, AND THE FUTURE OF THE INDUSTRY

2021-06-09

This post comes a week late as last week the Autodesk University class approvals took over the internet, which would have given it less of the exposure it definitely deserves.

Danamo Chats is one of the greatest web series focused on BIM, the AEC industry, and Dynamo. Hosted by Dana De Filippi, new guests are featured every week, discussing where the industry is at nowadays, and what the realms of automation offer in terms of potential and possibilities. The series is both highly educational, insightful, and fun.

On webisode 6, I was pleased and honored to join Taco Pover (author of MEPover, one of the most popular Dynamo packs for MEP automation), Sean Fruin (founder at Sigma AEC Solutions with a great disruptive mind), and Dana (who doesn’t need any introductions, although I can add that, after knowing her personally, she’s also a great and highly generous person, both fun to talk to and insightful to learn from) to discuss the topic of automation from an MEP perspective.

I will not go about and spoil it for you all as the whole thing is not to miss, but as a quick summary, I can assure you that it’s a great discussion where a lot of the challenges we face on a daily basis are detailed, and where our mutual love for technology led into discussing some more advanced, and potentially futuristic aspects of the industry, ranging from generative design, Forge, Digital Twins and IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and gaming engine integration within the AEC industry.

In case you missed it, make sure to watch it below, and to hit the subscribe button as the channel will definitely bring you more interesting content in the future!

I mean, don’t you want to know what Super Mario is doing in the video thumbnail below?
